"Where America's Day Begins" is the official motto of the US island territory of Guam.
Or it was when I had to live in the early 70's. I guess they can legitimately make the claim since Guam sits just past the International Date Line. And that means, as we all should know from our geography lessons, that technically speaking, the first rays of light of the new day will dawn on this little slice of Pacific Amercia.
