As far as KTMA episodes go, this one's really the one to watch! Just like the rest of the season the skits are a mixed bag (amusing at best... though I do think the pre-credits musical number was a riot), and the riffing is rather slow, but this one shows a good deal more effort than the others.

Admittedly, being a fan of 70's disaster films, I found the movie itself to be great on it's own. A 'spot the faces' of second-rate 70s actors (Burgess Meredith, Robert Reed, Peter Graves, Billy Crystal, and Regis Philbin, and many more!) with a plane that's out of fuel, falling apart, *and* dealing with a last-minute deadly virus on the loose... Heck, I guess an open box of deadly virus samples beats the dying child of "Airport '75" and the human heart-in-a-box of "Airport '79"! To help out, riffing is often quite funny, and the 'musical' pre-credits sequence is a great touch. I laughed aloud several times throughout this episode, much more than I can say for the rest of the KTMA season...

I'd say that the KTMA episodes are worth it for die-hard fans for curiosity's sake; this one's the best to start with. If you don't like it, you might not want to try the other episodes... if you do? I'd say go for "The Last Chase" next for an extra dose of Burgess Meredith meeting a heroic, yet horrible end.
