This one looked really good for a KTMA episode, not much worse than seeing it on UHF TV where I was in MN at the time. The part spliced on to the beginning of the opening looked nearly pristine, causing me to get a little giddy, so I was let down a bit when it turned out to be merely very good :). I haven't seen the encode that the opening comes from.
This includes a couple of commercials, one with Kevin for "Travel Club," and one with Drs. Forrester and Erhardt (without the annoying voice) for "Pizza 'n' Pasta", who also broke into the very end of the movie for a sponsorship message. Brought back good memories.

The movie is actually quite good. Probably the best one ever shown on MST3K.

I am constantly reading comments how about Phase IV is a great film, but I honestly can't see the appeal. Personally, I found it to be tedious and it took me an entire day to manage to watch the episode - the riffing was weak and I couldn't watch the film in one sitting. K09 - Phase IV is one of my least favourite MST3K episodes.

Pretty good for a KTMA episode (sorry that I can't look back on it with the same whimsy). The movie was decent, even good for a MST3K movie. Except the ending... the ants wanted them to hook up to... I guess be ambassadors for the ants to the humans...? And nevermind that it took killing her grandparents and the scientist in the process (granted, the grandma had it coming).
